Yesterday we came around another annoying thing...but i think it is not typically dutch.
Why do you always have to pay when you go to a toilet in a restaurant, bar or disco?
You have already payed for the drink...so why pay for the pie?

To Anne Mieke and Kris,

As promised, my update!!   I just met the Bureau Nieuwekomers Plus today at Gouda gemeente and they were just great...    So, sorry... I like my Bureau Nieuwekomers Plus's trajectbegeleider. She's really helpful and resourceful... and seemed willing to share any information I asked and links me with other parties too- for further calss and work option.

Or do I praise them too soon? No more complaint for me  :-X

Look forward for the Brabant meeting (as mijn man seems to be interested comin there too ) I'll see you there Linda!

Despite all the negative things about Holland, we still want to live here :) And all those foreigners want to live here in Holland :) So after all it isn't that bad at all  

What about the fries...it doesn't taste that bad only it's so damn expensive. Beer and other drinks in cafés same...

Well, I have to be honestly, Holland is not my favorite country, but I enjoy the easy way of living here :)

I don't like the way in which MONA presents it's deserts...

my girlfriend tasted their deserts and I mean all of them (we did a little test).... and the outcome was not positive...

so I will write mona, you don't make the best TOETJES in the whole world!

Something my friend didn't like here, was the custom to walk inside the house with shoes on. The same shoes that walk on the streets, with it's dirt (soil, dog's products etcetera).

In Iran people mostly sit on the floor, also during the meals, on these beautiful Persian carpets.
These are cared for very well, and the fact that people walk on socks or barefoot inside the house, helps to keep these carpets clean.
So my friend "gruwelde" the first time he noticed this Dutch custom to move the dirt from the street by our shoes into the house... (but he said to himself that he had to get used to it... and seems to do indeed...)

he tasted it only once, and spitted it out within exactly 2 seconds... i think he brushed his teeth for more than 10 minutes

Yeah, Eew tasted `drop` as well... now I have to say that she likes a lot of foreign kitchens but this...

On the otherhand, I had to eat some Tamarind candies, they tasted like dirt! So me and my drop and she and her tamarind candies...

I was in some other countries as well and i can tell you that they have much more freedom then we have here.
The path of life you have to walk on gets smaller by the year due to the many rules here.
I'm able to have a nice beefsteak dinner in asia for  just 1 euro, when i would life there in asia i only would have 3% income tax to pay. There i can go for at least 21 days without a lot of paperwork and waiting 3 month for a dicision to go there. I just take the plain if i want 2 go.The biggest Thiefs here are are at the top and thats why people from those countries arent welcome here, they just cant steal from them.

I don´t like the constant raining, and I don´t like that everything closes so early, and on a saturday in the small cities there is not much to do and everybody are in bed around 2 am. I didn´t enjoy being kicked out of the museums at 5 pm, as much as I do not like attending to a dinner reunion at 15.00 and be finishing with the food by 18.30.

dont like how the shops all close at 5pm except on thursday ( then it's amad rush for everyone who works and cant get to the shops on other days. coming from singapore all the shops stay open till at least 9 pm/7 days a week.
there even a 24 hour shopping mall.. dats wat i really miss abt singapore when i'm in netherlands.

also people who talk so loud in the train when they receive a call from their mobile phone.  maybe they want the whole passengers to know their personal problem  :(
